New PCPS App Lets Users Monitor Student Grades, Assignments on Mobile Devices
Staying in touch with your school? Now there’s an app for that!
The free Polk County Public Schools app is available for download from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Users can download the app by searching for “Polk County Public Schools” in their app store and following their device’s prompts for installation.
After downloading the app, users will be prompted to log into their Parent Portal account. Instructions for setting up a Parent Portal account can be found here.
Once users log in, they will be able to access their students’ grades, attendance, upcoming assignments, test scores, school messages, the district calendar and more. Users may also agree to receive push notifications as their students’ information is updated.
PCPS worked with Focus School Software to develop the app.
“Communication is crucial to student success. This app makes it easier for parents to monitor their students’ grades and assignments — and provide whatever support their child may need,” said Assistant Superintendent for Information Systems & Technology Tina Barrios.
“So much of our lives are now lived on mobile devices. We do our banking, social networking and shopping on mobile devices. Now, PCPS is making it just as easy to also stay in touch with your child’s school. We’re very excited to offer this app to our community.”

Due to the current restrictions regarding COVID and having assemblies, we will not be traveling to schools to meet with students who are interested in finding out more about Harrison. We will also not be able to have our annual informational night meeting for interested students and parents. In place of these activities, we have created a short video giving more information about the school.
Here is the direct link to the video: https://youtu.be/ptzwuYEY_QA
The video also goes over the application process. The video is embedded on our website at harrisonarts.com/apply.
We are planning to hold a “Virtual Q&A” session for students and parents in December. Students and parents can submit questions now for that virtual session on our website http://www.harrisonarts.com (it is under the video and links to the application).

Parents: This is just a reminder that all students are required to wear their student id badge every day. Their id badge must be worn so it is visible at all times. Students without an id can get a new id before entering the school for a $5 replacement fee. If students go to their first period without their id, there will be a replacement id made for a $5 fee. After their third classroom replacement id, students will receive a work detail.
Please help your child to remember to wear their student id at all times.
